Nice to meet you
I'm Jonathan Lewin, a Toronto-based Senior Content Designer and UX specialist.I love building magical user experiences that are grounded in research, intuitive, and just really delightful.I've been writing professionally for 22 years. And I've been a user champion for more than half that time. Here's a taste of what I've been up to.

Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

As the Lead Content Designer in the philanthropy's Education group, I helped shape Along 2.0, the second iteration of the teacher-student connection builder.Initially designed to help teachers and students stay connected during the pandemic, Along saw a significant drop-off in use as classrooms returned to in-person learning. But research has continued to show that students succeed when they feel heard. With Along 2.0, we expanded the library of research-based questions, provided teachers with key insights into what their students are saying, and created a delightful experience that's easier for teachers and students to use.Case study coming soon

RBC Royal Bank

To create an experience that keeps homebuyers informed, engaged, and comfortable as they make the biggest purchase of their life.A big part of that effort included revamping the backend system for mortgage specialists and giving them more power and visibility every step of the way.Case study coming soon

McAfee

When I first joined the company, McAfee was notorious for its use of dark patterns. Its unpleasant user experience always put making money ahead of solving user problems.Constant popups interrupting your workflow. Frequent demands to “Buy Now” or “Renew Immediately”. Unfriendly error messages designed to scare you.I’m proud to have been part of the team that changed all that for the better.Case study coming soon
